Welcome! The Office of County Counsel provides legal representation, advice and counsel to the Board of Supervisors, County departments, special districts, and other public agencies, as mandated and authorized by the County charter and State statutes.

 

The Office provides a broad range of legal services directed at promoting the public service, objectives of the County, while protecting the County from loss and risk.

 

Divisions


The office is comprised of an Executive Office, 13 Law Divisions and an Administrative Services Bureau.

Our History


The Office of the Los Angeles County Counsel was established pursuant to the County Charter and State Constitution in 1913.  

Locations


The main office of the County Counsel is located at the Hall of Administration in downtown Los Angeles.  Satellite offices include locations at the Edelman Children's Court, the World Trade Center, and One Gateway Plaza.
